05 / ASSEMBLED : OUTDOOR CITY LIVING
As much as I love living in a city, sometimes I miss being able to have a nice big yard or outdoor space. We do, however have an teeny tiny little lawn and front stoop that is perfect for a few simple outdoor accessories. A chair and pillow to relax and soak in the sun is a must. We’ve also been collecting apartment friendly garden accessories and have started a little urban garden of our own.

OUR NEW ADDITION
We have a new addition to our family, Bosco! Since we brought him home Saturday, we can’t take our eyes off this little cutie – we’re already so in love with him. Yesterday we brought him to watch Nick run in the Shamrock Shuffle and he got a little tour of the city – he loves being outside and around people.
It’s so funny and entertaining to see him explore his new home, he’s such a riot. This morning he discovered himself in the mirror and that was quite the scene. Puppy training is definitely a learning process, do you have any advice for success?
12 / SNAPSHOTS
This week I’ve been trying to get out and explore my new neighborhood as much as possible. It’s amazing what a little lunchtime walk can do! Getting outside even if it’s for 20 minutes helps me get focused again for the afternoon. I’m going to try to do more Weekend Snapshots posts again – this one is a midweek exception.
01 // After putting it off for way too long, I finally made it to get my hair cut and colored. You know that moment when you look in the mirror and realize your hair is seriously long? That’s been going on for like 2 months, but I just haven’t gotten a chance to make an appointment. I’m glad I finally went – a little trim goes a long way. One of these days I want to do something a little bit more drastic to my hair. I always find that I chicken out last minute though! 02 // The past week has been so sunny, it feels good to break out my sunglasses! 03 // I tried this sandwich for the first time at Dollop Coffee Shop and I’m IN LOVE. It’s an everything bagel with roasted turkey, chive cream cheese, LT&O. Basically combining all of my favorite things onto one delicious plate. 04 // Spring means new sneakers. I am definitely a more casual girl; I usually always choose sneakers over flats – they are so much more comfortable to walk around in. I love these Keds from Madewell – the pattern caught my attention right away and the leather laces are the perfect detail.
UPDATES
Hello hello! I hope you all had a great Easter weekend. Sorry I’ve been MIA lately, our internet was out for a few days, work has been crazy, we moved, and the most exciting thing, I’ve been working on my new site!
We spent Easter Sunday moving a little north of downtown to Southport. Our dinner consisted of Taco Bell (sorry I’m not sorry) – our excuse is that it was the only thing open! ha. After talking to both of our families and hearing what they were cooking up for Easter, it was a little bit sad, but we were excited to spend the day exploring our new place.
Unpacking is the worst – you want to hear something insane? I have moved apartments every year since freshmen year of college. CRAZY I know. So I consider myself sort of an expert packer and unpack-er by now, but it’s never fun. We’re hoping to call this new place home for quite some time, fingers crossed. I’m excited to share some photos with you once everything is in place!
I’m so excited to be in our new neighborhood; everyone is so friendly and it’s a charming little street. Most importantly, my office has a LOT of light, wohoo!
As for my new site, it’s been quite the process – like I’ve talked about before, designing for yourself is never easy. It was definitely a fun process though. I learned a lot about my style, what I like and don’t like and how I want to portray myself. It’s being developed and I can’t wait for it to launch. Soon enough!
How was your weekend? It’s finally warming up here, I’m looking forward to spending more time outside.
WINTER BLUES
I’m never one to mind the winter. After growing up in New Jersey, going to school in Syracuse and now living in Chicago, I would consider myself well prepped for negative wind chills and endless snowfall. For some reason, in the past couple of weeks it has really been getting to me. I don’t even think it’s the weather, more the overall grayness that overtakes the sky and darkens the apartment. I can’t help but admire all of you enjoying sunny warm weather and wish I could escape there!
I’m officially ready for spring. I’m so looking forward to being able to run outside again, wake up in a sunny new apartment and put away my down jacket.
Things have been a little crazy around here the past couple weeks. I got back from a week long business trip Friday – we spent this weekend packing up and tried to enjoy a semi-relaxed Palm Sunday. We’re also prepping for a new surprise I can’t wait to share with you in the next few weeks!
Happy Monday and here’s to wishing the warm weather comes soon!
